T.Scott Dixey Photography

I have always been fascinated by the art and science of photography. It has been a passion of mine since I was a boy growing up in South Holland, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. My very first job was as a photographer for a local newspaper. While in high school I served as the photographer on the yearbook staff . After graduation I attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, with a double major in Photography and Cinema.
After college I moved to Chicago and started working freelance in the film industry, theatrical productions and in television commercials as a production assistant and grip. In 1977 I began working as a commercial photographer in the advertising industry.
In 1987 I was fortunate enough to be able to open my own successful commercial photography studio in the photo district of downtown Chicago. My portfolio is available upon request, however, some of my work may be viewed by clicking on 'Commercial'.
In 2000, after being a widower for seven years, I married a Texan and she brought me to the Lone Star State where I discovered not only Texas summers, Rebel Radio and crappie fishing but also photo opportunities everywhere...the hill country, Austin, bluebonnets, Houston, Texas gulf coast, San Antonio, Marfa Lights, the Big Thicket, Big Bend, all wrapped in that 'Texas Mystique'. Then in 2004 I discovered something else 'big'...Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter...I was hooked...not only on Texas but also on digital painting. In 2005 I went totally digital, proving to myself that everything IS bigger in Texas!
Currently my focus is family portraiture, digital paintings and restoration. Please know that I do digital paintings from either your images or mine. In addition we offer a broad range of photography services including Commercial, Bridal, Weddings, Seniors, Member Directories, P-shop consulting and Destination Photography. I hope you will consider these services when you are ready to document those special times, in your life or your business, with images that capture the moment ---T.Scott Dixey Photography!
